Abhi joined FPA in 2010. He serves as Portfolio Manager and Director of Research for the FPA New Income, Inc. and Portfolio Manager for the FPA Flexible Fixed Income Fund and Source Capital, Inc. Prior to joining FPA, Abhi was an investment analyst at Reservoir Capital Group and D.B. Zwirn & Co. and an investment banking analyst at UBS Warburg and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, summa cum laude, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Scott joined FPA in 2018. He serves as Analyst for the FPA Crescent Fund. Prior to joining FPA, Scott was the China correspondent for Fortune, where he also covered finance and Wall Street topics over nearly a decade at the magazine. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and Public Policy from Michigan State University.
Gavin joined FPA in 2018 and works with institutional investment consultants and clients on the East Coast and Midwest. Prior to joining FPA was a Senior Vice President in the Consultant Relations Group at Lazard Asset Management. Prior to joining Lazard in 2007, Gavin was an Asset Allocation Analyst in the Advisory Services group at Bear Stearns & Co. Gavin holds a BA in American History from UNC-Chapel Hill with a minor in Business Administration from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. He also holds MBA degrees from Columbia Business School and the London Business School. Gavin holds Series 7 and 66 licenses and is a CFA Charterholder.
Lance joined FPA in 2018. He primarily focuses on Business Development initiatives for FPA Funds and strategies in the advisory and broker/dealer channels in the Midwest. Prior to joining FPA, Lance was Vice President – Midwest Sales Director at First Eagle Investment Management from 2006 to 2017. Prior to First Eagle, Lance worked for the MTB Funds and Calamos Asset Management helping to lead distribution efforts at both firms. Lance earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing & Finance from Augustana College and holds a CFP designation.
Karen joined FPA in 2018. She serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for FPA, and brings with her over 15 years of industry experience. Previously, Karen was the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at First Republic Investment Management, LLC. Prior to First Republic, she worked as a Vice President and Senior Compliance Officer at Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) and also served as the Head of Compliance for Latin America. Karen earned her Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, graduating Cum Laude and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
David joined FPA in 2016. He serves as Chief Operating Officer responsible for the product and client facing functions of the firm including Client Service and Business Development. David also has broader organizational change management responsibilities partnering closely with the Management Committee to further promote operational process improvements and performance benchmarking, and to organize special firm-wide projects. Prior to joining FPA, he was a Senior Vice President at Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. Previously, David was a First Vice President in the Strategic Initiatives and Operational Risk Management Group at Countrywide Bank and Senior Project Manager at The J. Paul Getty Trust. David earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Brown University.
Kim joined FPA in 2016. She serves as Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for operations and infrastructure, leveraging her 23+ years of experience in this space. Prior to joining FPA, Kim was the Head of Operations at RS Investments. Before that she served as the global head of BlackRock’s Investment Operations Control and Oversight team. She also spent nearly 10 years early in her career as the Head of Trading Operations on the options trading floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange. Kim earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Political Science from Georgia Southern University. She also completed one year of MBA course work through the University of Phoenix’s online program.
