Market Cycle Performance reflects the two most recent completed market cycles (peak to peak) defined as a period that contains a decline of at least 20% from the previous market peak over at least a two-month period and a rebound to establish a new peak above the previous one by S&P 500 Index. It also includes the current cycle, which is ongoing and thus presented through the most recent quarter-end. Once the current cycle closes, the results presented may differ materially and may reflect a different time period than shown here.

5-Year Risk/Return Profile graph plots the return and risk (measured by standard deviation) for a selection of securities and a benchmark index for the trailing period identified. The returns noted for a security reflect any sales charges that were applied in the illustration over the time period selected, but do not reflect impacts of taxation. If impacts of taxation were reflected, the returns would be lower than those indicated. The return plotted in the graph is mean geometric return. Standard Deviation is a measure of dispersion of returns relative to its mean and is calculated as the square root of the variance. Higher deviation represents higher volatility.

After-tax returns are calculated net of fees, using the historical highest individual federal marginal income tax rates and do not reflect the impact of state and local taxes. Actual after-tax returns depend upon an investor’s tax situation and may differ from those shown.
