J. Richard Atwood

Senior Advisor

Richard originally joined FPA in 1988 and serves as a Senior Advisor to FPA and Trustee of the FPA Funds. Formerly he served as Managing Partner on FPA’s Management Committee and as President of the FPA Funds through July of 2023. Prior to FPA, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Transamerica Investment Services, Inc. and Senior Accountant with Ernst & Whinney. Richard earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Accounting from California State University, Long Beach.
