Investment Analyst

Los Angeles, California


Our Multi-Advisor strategy is seeking an alternative investment junior analyst to join our team. The analyst will support the team in evaluating prospective alternative investment managers and monitoring existing portfolio managers. Investments primarily include fundamental value focused hedge funds and private credit strategies.


  • Support the investment research team in all aspects of manager due diligence and analysis
  • Sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities
  • Monitoring existing investments, including reading manager commentaries, tracking portfolio positions, fund characteristics, etc.
  • Performance analysis, including attribution, etc.
  • Collaborate with team to create and improve tools and processes
  • Maintain documentation and analysis supporting investment recommendations, including preparing manager summaries
  • Maintain internal databases and portfolio management systems, utilizing Backstop, Bloomberg, and CapIQ.
  • Attend internal research meetings
  • Attend industry Capital Introduction conferences
  • Maintain a professional relationship with sourcing networks and managers


  • Knowledge of alternative investments and capital markets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and analytical abilities 
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capability

  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for investment research and global financial markets
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of relevant work experience
  • BA/BS degree required (business, finance and accounting related majors preferred)
  • Progress towards CFA or CAIA designation preferred.  Financial support provided for certifications.
  • Backstop software experienced preferred
