We seek a generalist Associate Research Analyst to join our Contrarian Value group focused on a value-oriented, contrarian, and long-term horizon investment strategy. The position will support the investment process through 1) short-term project work focused on fundamental bottom-up research analysis across capital structure, geographies, sectors, and market caps; and 2) helping the team monitor existing investments by flagging essential news and research. Candidates will be expected to fill the position for two years and will learn the foundational skills required to become an equity analyst in the asset management industry. The successful research analyst will be well rounded, a quick study, respond well to constructive feedback, self-starting, numerate, with strong critical reasoning and intellectual curiosity to support and validate investment theses by conducting due diligence and collecting pertinent information.
Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years experience in accounting, investment banking, investment management, or consulting industries. Passage of at least the Level 1 CFA exam and understanding and experience in accounting, including income statements, balance sheets, and financial statement analysis, are highly preferred.

This position will work on a hybrid model based in Los Angeles (preferred), however, full remote work in another geographic location may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Base salary range: $100,000-125,000 + bonus potential and comprehensive benefits package. Base salary will be determined by applicant’s skills, experience, geographic location, and pay equity considerations.
